UPDATE 1-Brazil bank Cruzeiro do Sul may be liquidated - paper Sep 14th 2012, 12:04 Fri Sep 14, 2012 8:04am EDT SAO PAULO, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Bankrupt Brazilian lender Banco Cruzeiro do Sul is likely to be liquidated by the central bank after failing to lure a buyer, in what might be the country's biggest bank collapse in seven years, daily Valor Economico reported on its website. Privately owned deposit guarantee fund FGC, Cruzeiro do Sul's administrator since it was seized by the central bank in June, failed to clinch a deal with Santander Brasil after negotiations broke down last night, Valor said, without naming its sources. Brazil's central bank and Cruzeiro do Sul declined to comment on the report.
